Alex Jones’ Endgame: Captain Conspiracy

Wow. Just finished Alex Jones’ Endgame. I took a lot of notes for follow up research. Why? Because I don’t trust Alex Jones.

It seems like Alex Jones goes out of his way to discredit himself. The “global elites” he talks about so often could hardly design a more ridiculous opponent. Alex Jones is a caricature of a conspiracy theorist. It’s not that I disagree with everything he says, it’s that his presentation isn’t designed to convince even a fairly intelligent person of his case. Alex Jones is a showman whose audience consists of fellow conspiracy nuts. In that context, he seems to be doing a great job.

If you know of more credible sources for this kind of information, please share.

  1. Well, there’s no doubt he’s a conspiracy theorist, almost by definition. Then again, conspiracy to commit X is a crime for a reason: conspiracies really do exist. Now, Jones is suggesting a conspiracy much larger than, say, a plan to rob a bank, so you’re definitely right to be cautious about accepting his claims. For the record, the parts at the very end of the movie, dealing with transhumanism, struck me as … well, missing the point of transhumanism a bit. Transhumanists talk a lot about existential risk, but mostly it’s in the way of ‘how do we avoid this?’ And I’ve never read anything suggesting that transhumanists want to keep life extension etc. for themselves … quite the opposite, in fact.

Setting that aside, every time I’ve gone ahead and checked up on what he was saying about political, historical or economic issues - where he’s on firmer ground - he’s turned out to be more or less on the money. As far as more credible sources of this kind of information, well, Alex Jones is pretty much the founding father of the 9/11 truth movement, so his sites are where most of this information is collated. Which doesn’t mean it’s all or even mostly written by him; most of it is accumulated from various newswires, or written by others within the truth movement. So if you want to do some digging, well, your best bet is probably google. I’m interested to see what you turn up.
