Trusting the Universe is a very good thing to do, Emily. I admit that surrendering your first situation to the Universe is difficult; but, this made it easier the second time around, and so on. My life has dramatically improved since I have surrendered ALL of my problematic situations upstairs. Some of the answers I could have provided myself, but, now life is almost anxiety free, considering the helpers upstairs provide answers in a timely manner. Well, so far. The longest I waited for was a week -- and then it came quickly once I redefined the request to something more concise.

Emily, above you mention the "no path". There is a path, but the Universe allows us free will of choice of how we move along that path. We are allowed to make mistakes, learn by them, and hopefully not repeat them again -- otherwise we end up in a scenario from the movie "Groundhog Day", repeating until we get it right. What a waste of time that can be, when you are supposed to be learning the new tasks presented to you.

Every new situation you find yourself in has a message for you to decipher. You meet new people for a reason, usually to learn something important; or you are to provide them with something of particular interest. Perhaps this is why I found your website when Googling Eckhart Tolle.

This website has intriguing insights on the Universe, by the way.
